Upon applying to Loyola you鈥檒l be automatically considered for academic merit scholarships. Your financial support is important to us.
First-Year Academic Scholarships
When you apply to Loyola, you are automatically considered for a full range of merit-based academic scholarships up to and including full tuition. These awards are renewable for four years or eight academic semesters. Historically, admitted students who qualified for a merit scholarship applied at least with a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. There is no extra application for academic merit-based scholarships, but there might be an additional application for some of the select scholarships below. All additional scholarship applications can be found within the student's admissions portal.听
All students should also apply for Financial Aid by . This will allow you to be considered for Loyola grants as well as federal need-based aid. Loyola's FAFSA Code is 002016.
Ignatian Scholarship
The Ignatian Scholarship is the most prestigious merit scholarship that Loyola awards its applicants. Student receive a four-year, full-tuition and fees scholarship, on-campus housing and meal plan allowance and are automatically admitted into the University . Ignatian Scholars are privileged to join a cohort of engaged, invested and motivated individuals who also fulfill specialized service requirements. In order to be considered for this scholarship, a student must submit the following items by January 15, 2025:
- A complete admissions application that includes 6th semester high school transcripts and standardized test score (if not applying test optional)
- A minimum GPA of a 3.75 on a 4.0 scale (weighted or unweighted) OR a minimum 30 ACT or 1360 SAT composite score
- The and required essay (Note: This application will also serve as your Honors program application)

Catholic Identity Scholarship
The Catholic Identity Scholarship is a one year scholarship awarded to incoming students who demonstrate a true devotion to living out their Catholic faith. To be considered for this scholarship, you must submit the following items by February 15, 2025:

Social Justice Scholarship (First Year Sociology majors/minors only)
The Social Justice Scholarship is a听financial award and student program that provides a way for Loyola students to live out the Jesuit tradition of academic excellence and the pursuit of social justice. Administered by the Department of Sociology, this program integrates academic learning with social action. Eligible students are first required to major or minor in Sociology and engage in 45 hours of community service per semester while keeping at least a 2.75 GPA. Each month, the Scholars will gather and share a meal together, discuss their service work and share their responses to a common reading that addresses issues of inequality and justice. This shared experience will develop an intellectual foundation that helps Scholars learn to critically analyze social problems and solutions.听This scholarship is only available for incoming first-year students and is renewed throughout the student's four years at Loyola.听You must also submit a separate application for scholarship consideration.

College of Music and Media Scholarships (Majors Only)
Students who are interested in applying to the College of Music and Media should indicate their preferred academic major on their Loyola application. Auditions, interviews or portfolio submissions are a requirement to major in this college. Upon successful completion of these requirements, students will be evaluated for their academic and artistic achievements, and if eligible, will receive one combined scholarship called the Rising Artist Award, with their admission letter.听

Ensemble Award Scholarship (Non-Music Majors Only)
The Ensemble Award is a scholarship opportunity for non-music majors to participate in our classical or jazz ensembles. Students are awarded a $3,000 scholarship which is renewable for four years as long as the student commits to one major ensemble per semester.听In order to be considered for the Ensemble Award, please register for an on campus audition day or submit a video audition by March 1, 2025.听

FACHEX or Tuition Exchange Programs
黑料社区 participates听in both the FACHEX (for Jesuit institutions) and Tuition Exchange programs for benefit-eligible employees of qualifying institutions.听听
Athletic Student Scholarships
黑料社区 is a member of the (NAIA) and the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) competing at the Division I level. Scholarships are available for qualified players. Applicants need to complete the required in order to be considered.听
Loyola is a , meaning we do not consider ACT or SAT test scores during the admissions process. However, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), which governs Loyola Athletics, allows test scores to be used as an option to confirm your NAIA eligibility. TOPS Scholarship (Louisiana Residents)
TOPS is a state funded scholarship program听for Louisiana Residents that graduate from Louisiana听High Schools. Each year听the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance updates TOPS requirements听and collects information听from students, high schools and colleges to determine eligibility for the award. The current听award requirements are listed听. If you want to discuss your TOPS eligibility we advise you to set up an appointment with your high school counselor.听
TOPS money can be used by Louisiana students to assistant听in tuition payments at private colleges in Louisiana. Although Loyola is a , TOPS is still determined based on GPA and test scores. We think it is important听to be able to include the TOPS award in your Financial Aid Award, but cannot do so without the submission of test scores. Upon completion of your Loyola Application, you will see a place to upload a copy of your test scores in your Loyola portal. Please make sure the image of your test score includes all subscores, composite score, your full name, and date of birth.听
If you are unsure听if you will qualify for TOPS please seek an appointment with your high school counselor to review your transcript and test scores.听
**LOSFA will also require submission of the FAFSA as part of the requirement to receive听TOPS.**
International Student Scholarships
We offer a full range of merit-based scholarships up to and including full tuition for qualified international applicants. Generally, students must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA to qualify. International applicants are not eligible for federal need-based aid.
Need-Based Loyola Grants
Students must demonstrate a financial need to qualify for need-based scholarships. To be considered, complete the year appropriate Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and you will be considered for all need-based federal, state, and institutional aid programs. The 黑料社区 FAFSA Code is 002016. We encourage you to complete the FAFSA as soon as possible after October 1. Some forms of aid run out, so the earlier you apply, the more likely you鈥檒l receive the maximum award. This grant is also subject to change.听

Private Sources for College Funding
Many 鈥渙utside鈥 need- and merit-based grants and scholarships are available from private sources鈥攑articularly for students who are willing to do a bit of research on their own. Outside scholarships and grants will typically have unique eligibility criteria, applications, and deadlines, so starting the scholarship search sooner rather than later is a good idea!

Louisiana Private Aid Programs
A number of private organizations award scholarships to Louisiana residents. Each scholarship has its own eligibility requirements and application process. Private aid programs provide need-based scholarships, study abroad scholarships, merit scholarships and awards that support students with a particular study interest or talent.听
Study Abroad
