How to Apply

  • Complete Loyola鈥檚 free or the
    • Take a to help discover possible majors to declare on your application (optional).
  • Submit official original secondary school transcripts.
    • All transcripts that are听not听in English must be evaluated.听听is a recommended service. An official course-by-course evaluation must be included.

    • Students who complete the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program are eligible to receive up to 30 credits at 黑料社区, which is equivalent to one full year of study, or sophomore status.

  • Submit official TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo English Test (DET), SAT**, or ACT** scores
  • If an international applicant is admitted and chooses to enroll, an affidavit of financial support and copy of passport will be required for next steps in the enrollment and visa-issuing processes with the Center for International Education.听

    Please note: The affidavit and passport is not required in order to complete an international application.

**Loyola is a test optional听institution, so students may choose to use the SAT or ACT exam to satisfy听their English Proficiency听requirement.

Center for International Education

Whether you are coming to Loyola for a degree or just one semester, we will help you make the most of your experience at Loyola, the beautiful city of New Orleans, and the U.S.

The staff of the Center for International Education (CIE) is here to help you and provides the following programs and services specifically designed for the international student:

  • International student orientation
  • Assistance with all immigration matters, including the Visa application process
  • Advising on cultural, linguistic, academic, financial, immigration, or personal questions
  • Administration of health insurance for international students
  • Organizing international festivals, cultural activities, and excursions to tourist sites

About our Pilot Program听

Loyola offers conditional admission to international students who are academically admissible to the university but fall below the minimum English proficiency requirements.

Pilot Program Consideration

The Pilot Program is designed as a hybrid schedule of intensive English coursework and academic credit classes for students whose TOEFL/IELTS/CEFR/Duolingo scores fall below the minimum needed for full degree- seeking admission but who otherwise have a strong academic record, have displayed strong leadership, and demonstrated a high level of commitment through service. To be considered for the Pilot Program, Loyola requires the following minimum scores on听 the TOEFL, IELTS, CEFR, or Duolingo examinations in addition to a competitive academic record and the required .听All credits apply towards degree.

About our Loyola Intensive English Program

Students who are interested in attending Loyola to study English as their second language may be qualified for our Loyola Intensive English Program (LIEP).

Conditional Admission to Loyola's Intensive English Program (LIEP)

听is Loyola鈥檚 Intensive English Program and is designed for students who must improve their language skills in order to gain admission into the Pilot Program or the full degree- seeking program. LIEP currently offers intermediate and advanced level intensive English courses. To be considered for Conditional Admission into LIEP, Loyola requires students to have taken听the TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo examination in addition to听having a competitive academic record and the required听.听Once students complete the program, the LIEP Director will provide a recommendation to the 黑料社区 Committee for admission into the most appropriate program.
