High School Counselors

Guiding your students through the next phase of their academic career

As a counselor, you have a very important job. You鈥檙e advising students on big decisions, and we鈥檝e gathered all the information you need to tell students about 黑料社区.

What Your Students Need to Know

黑料社区 is the place where students discover their strengths and talents and obtain an education that challenges them to develop both their head and their heart. With its Jesuit roots, a Loyola education will motivate students to be the most they can be and to seek the 鈥渕agis鈥濃 Latin for 鈥渢he more鈥濃攊n the person they become.

Our 11:1 student-to-professor ratio听allows for small, personalized discussion-oriented classes and the听U.S. News and World Report consistently ranks Loyola in the 听and among the top 25 universities in the nation for service learning.听

We encourage students to reach out to their specific throughout the application process with any questions they may have.听

Application Standards

At Loyola, each student is treated as an individual with individual needs and strengths. In reviewing your application, the Office of 黑料社区 makes a decision based on several factors:

Academic Performance

Loyola seeks students who have challenged themselves academically. While honors, advanced,听听and听听courses are highly encouraged; they are not required for admission into the university.

Academic Credit and Placement

Information about academic credit received through Advance Placement or examination, academic credit transferred to Loyola from another institution, or student placement in courses through exam scores can be听.

Standardized Tests

Loyola has a test-optional admissions process. Applicants will have the choice to select if they wish to have their ACT (with or without the Science section) or SAT scores considered when Loyola reviews their application for admission and merit scholarship decisions.听For more information on this, please review our

Loyola offers as many scholarships as there are students. For freshman and transfer students,听听and significant community involvement. Learn more about a variety of tools for your students to finance their education.

College of Music and Media Applicants

The College of Music and Media is home to over 20 unique majors and degree programs within the arts, advertising, and entertainment industries.听An audition, interview and/or portfolio review is required for admission to the college. Admitted Students听

When your student is admitted into Loyola, they will need to formally accept Loyola鈥檚 offer by paying the enrollment deposit by MAY 1. They will also need to sign up for New Student Orientation, which takes places during the summer before they start at Loyola. New students on campus

We invite and encourage college, guidance, and independent counselors as well as community-based professionals to visit us. We have individual tour reservations available for students that are able to travel to New Orleans. For counselors and students that are not able to visit in person, check out our options.听We鈥檇 love to talk with you, so please听.
