Prayers for peace in the Middle East

Dear Loyola community,

I am sure that many of you watched with deep sadness the events that have been unfolding in the Middle East recently. Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Behavioral Intervention Team members are reaching out directly to individuals who may have been affected to offer support.

For any student in need of assistance at this difficult time, please know that there are resources available to you if you would like to talk to someone.聽

  • The (UCC) offers same-day appointments during regular business hours, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., and can be reached by calling 504.865.3835 or visiting the office on the second floor of the Danna Center, directly above the Orleans Room. Additionally, the UCC counselor on-call can be reached 24/7 by calling 504.865.3835, press 1 if after business hours. 聽
  • Students can also email getinvolved@loyno.edu or call 504.865.3622 to be put in touch with a university minister for pastoral counseling or spiritual companionship.
  • If you are interested in learning how to care for your mental health during this difficult time, you can visit , the , (SAMHSA), or .

Employees who may need a listening ear or emotional support can utilize resources through the Employee Assistance Program.

  • For faculty and staff covered by the Loyola Medical Plan through UnitedHealthCare, the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides confidential support for everyday challenges or assistance with more serious concerns.
