Magis Moment: December 2024

A Message from the Vice President of University Advancement听

This fall has been filled with memorable moments, from Loyola alumni events and dinners to opportunities for reflection. Yet, what has stood out the most has been cheering on Loyola鈥檚 basketball teams鈥攚hether in New Orleans or L.A.鈥攁nd watching our athletes in action. Loyola鈥檚 student-athletes continue to inspire with their dedication both on and off the court. Their impressive GPAs and unwavering persistence make it exciting to follow their journeys.

Just last week, the University Advancement team joined about 300 Holy Name students to cheer on our Women鈥檚 Basketball team during their lunchtime game against Tennessee Southern. Although the Pack came up just short in an overtime thriller, the energy in the arena was electric, and the young fans had an unforgettable experience.

Equally inspiring is the generosity of local philanthropists, corporations, parents, and alumni who have stepped up to support these players. Thanks to contributions like those from the Richard C. Colton Jr. Foundation, we鈥檝e seen significant improvements in our facilities and opportunities for our teams to travel to important matchups. These investments elevate the student-athlete experience and showcase the critical role athletics play in shaping well-rounded individuals. is on the rise, and Loyola is dedicated to fostering balanced, successful young adults. If you鈥檙e interested in joining this mission, we would welcome your support!
