Undergraduate Degree Programs
Bachelor of Arts in English
Loyola's Department of English offers a diverse curriculum in literature, critical theory, film studies, creative writing, nonfiction and professional writing, digital media, editing and publishing, and rhetoric. Students receive a strong foundation in classic and modern works, with writing skills emphasized in every course.

Minors
Minor in English
Students interested in the English minor have the option of selecting either the English minor or the English writing minor. The English Department also participates in several interdisciplinary minors.

Catherine Lacey

Dr. Hillary Eklund
Professor of English Dr. Hillary Eklund received the 2019 Monroe Kirk Spears Award from Studies in English Literature, 1500-1900 for her Spring 2019 article, "Shakespeare's Littoral and the Dramas of Loss and Store."

Kirby Voss
Department of English alumnus Kirby Voss serves as executive director of COOL Cooperative, an after-school program teaching children about filmmaking, and writes and directs his own feature films.
